Hi guys!
This week was one full of progress, after working hard and investigating we finally found a lab that is willing to collaborate with us in the 3D printing aspect of our research.
On monday we were able to look to our material, which is a collaboration with ASU using LDH and Allyl Alcohol to form our polymer, under the SEM.
By Wednesday I finished the 3D structure using two incredible software NX11 and Magics by materialize. I also started to understand how molflow works to later do some thermofluids calculations to stablish the parameters of our potential water rate flow and absorbance with our material.
We also went to NMSU (New Mexico State University) at las cruces. There we meet two awesome students, Mathias and Julian. They are Engineering students that are helping us as technicians of the 3D Stereolithography printer. We learned the density of the solution as well as the resolution of the laser (how small we can get). They were really nice to us and started printed right away. We first started with a really simple model and then got the the complex one. The printer always make a base and some lines to hold the whole structure that later can be removed to clean your model. Next Monday we are looking forward to print with our own material and we are excited.
