After a few procedural adjustment setbacks, I have finally started my first round of jar tests. The templated and non-templated LDH beads are now being tested in selenium-sulfate solutions at different ratios. We’re doing 1:0, 1:0, 1:10, and 1:100 selenium to sulfate ratios. 
Also, I had my meeting with Dr. Chan with the microplastics expert Dr. Bi and with Dr. Sinha. After exploring the idea of starting a new research project on microplastics with the other professors, it was decided that due to unreliable detection and measurement methods for microplastics available on site, we could not afford to run a small trial and get definitive results to begin a research proposal just yet.
