While waiting for the ICP-MS machine to get fixed, again, I began to experiment with a few methods of making chitosan films. I discovered that by making a “pulp” and allowing it to remain separated as it cures in the base, I can compress it into a thin sheet to dry. Once fully dry, the film retains some flexibility and I hypothesize that this new film may be used to create chitosan membranes that can aid in future studies. Increasing the surface area allow for more efficient selenium removal.
