I’m at ASU spending some time with the NEWT REUs. David Smith is working in Paul Westerhoff’s lab with Zhe Zhao studying the use of UV-emitting optical fibers to prevent biofilms in water pipes and other confined spaces.

And last but not least, Andrea Maya is researching whether treated agricultural runoff can be used to grow lettuce. She is working in Sergi Garcia-Segura’s lab with Gabriel Cerron.
