Problem Statement

Water contamination is a constant issue in our daily life. For instance, water treatment is one of the main concerns in science. There exist four types of water contaminants; inorganic minerals, organic contaminants, biological and radioactive minerals. When we think in this specific contaminant, we visualize it as a problem who is impacting people which, are in bad conditions. Nations just like Africa or east Asia. But this problem is impacting our own nation, about 6 million residents in the US are consuming uranium contaminated water. Our approach within this problem is to create a 3D printed water filter with specific molecular cavities created with actual uranium atoms making it possible to control the actual size of it. Also, the printed design structure would be specifically created to control the water rate, pressure and increase the potential surface interaction with the solution. Using as the main component nanocomposite polymer. This filter will potentially absorb uranium particle in water, letting a water flow and retaining the uranium inside.
