2023 NEWT REU Blog Entry # 7 – Leanh Nguyen

Hello! My name is Leanh Nguyen, and I am a rising junior at Rice University. I have just finished another week of my time at NEWT’s REU, and it feels like it was just yesterday when this REU started. I hope we all feel ready for next week’s presentation. 🙂

During this week, Naomi and I continued to troubleshoot our Rodeostat with the help of Aaron and Matthew. We were also able to get a new laptop from Dr. Loyo to use with our Rodeostat system 🙂

Then, throughout the week, Naomi and I began finalizing our figures and tables for the Hueco Tanks and Arsenic posters. We also began working on a small cheat sheet for the social work students to briefly explain the components of the RO system as well as our reasoning behind using a UV light chamber.

Once again, thank Dr. Jorge Loyo, Dr. Silvia Chavez, and Dr. Eva Deemer for this amazing opportunity and for all of the guidance and knowledge they have given me.
