Goals for the week 6/26

Hello everyone,

This week I will be doing some research on different solvents and ways that people have electrospun PVDF, this polymer is used commonly for water filtration because it is hydrophobic. We will begin by using DMSO as the solvent for the polymer, then start optimizing the solutions parameters for consistent results, SEM, then TEM of a sample will be taken to make sure that the morphology is correct.  One of the hardest parts about electrospinning is how many variables affect the outcome of the fibers. It will take some time to find the right solution concentrations, flow rate, and voltage. I am looking forward to getting back to the lab this week.
