Over the past couple of days, the 2018 NEWT and R-STEM REUs got together at Rice to get to know each other and learn about the REU program and NEWT.
Meet the eleven 2018 NEWT REU interns!
Uriel (UTEP), Darya (Rice), Elisabeth (Rice), Dianne (ASU), Carlos (ASU), Janice (ASU), William (Rice), Tahimy (Rice), Edgar (UTEP), Ifeoluwa (Rice), Oscar (UTEP)
We also got to learn about each one of them and their projects for this summer:
Oscar will be working in Dr. Dino Villagran’s lab at UTEP
Dianne will be at Dr. François Perreault’s lab at ASU
William will work in Dr. Mike Wong’s lab at Rice
Uriel will spend the summer at UTEP, in Dr. Shane Walker’s lab
Janice will be at ASU in Dr. Candace Chan’s lab
Dr. Jun Lou will host Tahimy at Rice
Edgar will be hosted by Dr. Juan Noveron at UTEP
Jose Carlos will work at ASU in Dr. Paul Westerhoff’s lab
Ifeoluwa is being hosted by Dr. Naomi Halas at Rice
Darya is spending the summer at Rice, in Dr. Pedro Alvarez’s lab
Elisabeth will also be at Rice, in Dr. Qilin Li’s lab
