During this third week I learned how to use other materials in the lab. I worked with different people as well with the guidance of Seye. We prepared some samples of different conductivities and tested its alkalinity , which was a new term for me. Every PhD student working in the lab is very kind and willing to help us to understand what they are working on. Other high school volunteers have been helping them with their projects including the CDI. The training on Monday was very helpful, I wrote many tips I will definitely use on my poster. The food was better this time with wings included in the menu. This week was Seye’s (my mentor) birthdate and we went to El Rincon to celebrate and have a good lunch. Decent mexican food by the way. I gave him a cheesecake which he enjoyed much. These days Ingot more involved in the lab and I am learning many things I did not even know existed. I am happy with this experience so far.
