I’ve become much more comfortable in the lab setting now that it has been a couple of weeks. My mentor is really patient and friendly and he’s shown me well on how to handle the equipment we’ll be working on for the rest of the summer. He’s actually preparing to teach a class in the beginning of July so he’s informed me that when that starts he’s not going to have as much time to be in the lab as he does now. I think that’s why he has taken the time to show me step-by-step what he needs me to be doing, so I can be self reliant while he’s gone. I feel really comfortable with what we’re doing and after running some experiments to find some values we needed for a mathematical model he came up with we’re going to start on the actual project he’s been planning for over a year.
