BLOG!

I got to attend a Department of Energy (DOE) meeting with the Li Lab regarding their Solar Desalination Program. This may not seem like much, but this is a huge deal for me. I finally got to see the faculty host, Dr. Qilin Li! Although this meeting was purely business and goal-oriented, I was star-struck. It was a great experience to see how she and Dr. Abdallah (mentor) run their meetings. I will never forget this.

The plan for today is…another day, another 9 hours of data collection and analysis.

Now that I have collected over 70 hours of data using the membrane coated with carbon black nanoparticles in the presence of light, I will now collect as much data as I can until Friday using the uncoated, Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), membrane, without sunlight, and at higher temperatures. On Friday, and over the weekend, the system will be used for DOE purposes.

I am enjoying this fast-pace, high-pressure, setting.
